There are days when I find myself looking away from the headlines in the media because the majority only seem to reflect the evil there is in the world. Twenty-four hours a day, 365 days a year, our modern technology pours this dark mass through our open portals and into our hearts and minds.
It is easy to see why so many of us become overwhelmed with the images of millions of refugees clasping their children in their arms; desperate to reach some form of welcoming shore. It is easy to close our eyes and minds to the plight of hundreds of thousands of young girls forced into marriages or brutalised in the name of ‘honour’. We wince as we hear about girls mutilated by older women who were mutilated themselves and warped by the experience.
And we find horror in the attacks on the streets of women of all…
